A still life exercise from Painting I at Brevard College. This was the second still life arrangement with the teapot. I insisted on using it again because it gave me so much trouble the first time. I’ve always been rather disturbed by the inclusion of the word “Applied” in the painting. Words really gain importance when they appear in a piece and so it sort of demands some meaning. It had none, unfortunately. It was just part of the title of the book.
